Shetland Sheepdog Club of Victoria
The official site of the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Victoria (SSCV). The site includes a brief breed overview, the history
of the Shetland Sheepdog in Victoria, current club information and results from SSCV shows. Also available are articles
of interest to all dog owners, and the oppurtunity to purchase club merchandise.

Shetland Sheepdog Club of Victoria Rescue Service
The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Victoria runs a rescue service for abandoned and neglected shelties. This website is
where you'll find shelties who have been mistreated by their previous owners and desperately need to be 'adopted' into
new families. Thankfully, there aren't too many shelties in this situation. If you wish to learn more about the function of
the sheltie rescue program, or read about the many success stories of re-homed shelties, this is the place to go.

Australian National Kennel Council
All show / conformation dogs are bred to a specific standard. This is a link to the Australian Breed Standard for the
Shetland Sheepdog. The standard outlines such things as: height, general appearance, ears, coat, movement, eye shape,
permissable colours, etc. It is a description of how the ideal dog should be, and all shelties are bred with this standard
in mind.

Endangered Dog Breeds of Australia
Louanda Kennels would like to draw their visitors attention to the Endangered Dog Breeds of Australia website. The
association has been set up to oppose B.S.L, or Breed Specific Legislation. Although currently the only breed that seems
nationally discriminated against is the American Pit Bull Terrier, the evidence from places such as England and America,
where B.S.L has long been in place, show that sooner or later the legislation will spread to other breeds whom are totally
undeserving of the restrictions placed upon them. At Louanda Kennels, we believe the fault generally lies with the
owner - not the breed, and would like to voice our support for the EDBA.
